Topography [cubed] is a mapping of the physical attributes of a group of individuals, and their experience specific to a moment in time.  Each component records the height of an individual at scale 1:10.  Brought together in the work, the components reflect the collective formed by the group through participation.

Crystallising the group's time-based experience in their contribution to the making of the work, Topography [cubed] is a palimpsest of both measurement and memory.  In synthesizing action into form, the work reveals a transient moment in the history of a population, superseded even as it was being made.  In this way it comments on the continual flux and growth of landscape.  The title of the work makes references to its formal qualities, and to the experience of landscape in multiple dimensions.

Topography [cubed] is sponsored by Arts Council England, and Museums, Libraries & Archives.
