This small, city garden is designed to take advantage of its urban environment, borrowing the energy of neighbouring architecture and the canopy of mature park trees.

With space on the ground being limited, every surface is critical.  Light plays across the walls which are sculpted in low relief.  The relief casts shadow that modulates the wall surfaces, and creates alcoves and shelves for the display of personal mementos.  Bespoke art glass created specifically for the garden controls views both into and out of the garden, and disperses hued lights across the walls and floor.  Elsewhere natural materials provide textural interest that reminds us of nature, and that the city is after all, a landscape.
