In this garden the aesthetics of texture have been emphasised; tactile, audible, sensual. Consideration has been given to plant textures both individually, and in association with each other; and under the different lighting conditions created by the passage of time. Providing long-lasting structural interest through the year, foliage texture is overlaid with the texture and excitement of seasonal flowers.
Planted texture exists in intimate dialogue with the texture of both house and garden architecture. Here, this includes the contrasting textures of wood, rock and water, luminous through the calming movement of fish.
